opportunities for fun, fellowship, and service
Peace Lutheran Pioneers offers a fun opportunity for kids in grade school to spend time with one another. Typical activities, always centered in God’s Word, are camping, woodworking, cooking, fieldtrips, and an annual pine car derby.
Jesus Cares Ministry
A special opportunity for involvement at Peace is the Jesus Cares Ministry. This ministry offers specially-designed, once-a-month worship services and occasional fellowship events to people in the Rockford area with developmental disabilities.
The Guardian Angels is a fellowship group designed for women 59+. The group meets twice a month at a local restaurant for a short Bible study, companionship and lunch.
Fun Events for the Family
Throughout the year, Peace offers opportunities for members and friends of the church to gather for plain ol’ fun: golf outings, an annual church picnic, fellowship meals and soup & sandwiches, the annual Harvest Fest, and much more.
Because God’s people want to use their time and special talents to serve, Peace gives its members opportunities to do so. Opportunities include teaching our youth, greeting and ushering at our worship services, membership in the Altar Guild, singing in a choir, planning and leading ministry, using instrumental abilities, and so much more.
Peace also offers its adults and young people many opportunities to serve outside of the congregation, for example, service at a local soup kitchen or involvement in the church’s mission and humanitarian efforts in the United States and throughout the world.
Members have the opportunity to use their vocal and musical gifts as a member of the Adult Choir of Peace, the Male Choir, or a choral group.
The Peace Women’s Ministry meets once a month for fellowship and a short Bible study, and to plan important ministry to the congregation. This group also hosts an annual Advent by Candlelight for women as well as other events.
