Workshop Descriptions

Grace in Perserverance

As we are shown a glimpse of the intense trials and tribulations that Mahtob Mahmoody experienced, she will encourage us to persevere when our own lives are in turmoil. God promises blessings and grace through perseverance in James 1:12: “Blessed is the man who perseveres under trials, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

Grace in Submission

We live in a society where the very thought of surrendering our rights to another – submission – is viewed as weakness and often met with strong opposition. In her workshop, Kathie Wendland will lead us in a study that clearly shows evidence of God’s grace in his plan of submission. We are reminded in Ephesians 5:21, “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

Grace in Rejection

The desire to be accepted by others is strong, but as Christians, we may suffer rejection because of our faith. Join Rachel Fritz as she comforts us with the certainty of God’s grace that is ours, especially when we face rejection from those around us. Through rejection, God promises his blessing, as is written in Matthew 5:11-12: “Blessed are you when people insult you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for great is your reward in  heaven.”

Grace in His Word

Throughout the pages of Scripture, from Genesis through Revelation, God’s grace is revealed. Pastor Tom Engelbrecht will lead us in a Bible study where we find peace and  encouragement in God’s abundant grace and promises. We reflect on the words from 2 Corinthians 12:9: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Grace in Change

Our roles and circumstances in life are ever-changing, which often challenges our confidence and sense of security. Stephanie Halldorson will address the emotions involved with  change and remind us that in the midst of our changing lives, we have a changeless God who remains constant and faithful in his grace. We find his clear statement regarding this in Malachi 3:6: “I the LORD do not change.”

Grace in Art

That simple word reveals the very essence and nature of our God. Enjoy stenciling a board-sign work of art with Doreen Erdman. Then, display your finished product at home or at work  as a reminder and witness of the amazing and undeserved love that is ours through Christ our Savior! We echo the words found in Hebrews 13:25: “Grace be with you all.”
